Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth and surrounding tissue parts. Dentures replace them completely or partially, thus named complete dentures and partial dentures respectively.

when all teeth are missing we use complete dentures but when we replace some of the missing teeth, partial dentures are used. complete dentures can be made immediately after all the teeth are removed or after the gum tissue has begun to heal, about 8-12 weeks after extraction.

Partial dentures are removable dentures or a bridge that usually consists of the replacement of missing teeth attached to the gum-colored plastic base or metal framework that holds the denture in place in the mouth.

There are other options regarding partial dentures which your dentist can explain to you better.
