Direct Restoration is a single dental appointment procedure and doesn't require the use of provisional or temporary restoration.it is completely done inside the mouth and doesn't require the use of dental laboratory.

Direct Restorations which are commonly used by dentists are silver amalgam or composite resins. These are the dental filings used to fill the dental cavities formed as a result of tooth decay. The decayed part of tooth is removed and tooth is also prepared. Cavity is then filled with dental restorative material which hardens in its place. Thus the tooth is restored and patient can return to usual activities without restrictions.

Composite resins are used widely now a days as it also helps to repair minor chips and cracks in teeth .So it is called composite bonding or cosmetic bonding. This is also placed shaped and hardened during a single day dental visit.
